Christian Siriano Designs for the Everyday Woman-S17 Collection
Christian Siriano has done it again with his Spring 2017 collection! I absolutely love his designs and this line is no exception as he created it to appeal to the modern woman. Everything about it is perfect. From the fabric selections to the silhouette of each piece, to the colors of the collection – all of it selected to form a beautiful and feminine collection that any woman can identify with.
Every outfit of this line was made to compliment and accentuate a woman’s curve. From the shoes to the bags, even the jewelry, and nail polish – all of it came together to complete the perfectly thought-out and executed looks. And somehow he designed a collection that actually looks good on any woman no matter her skin tone or shape!
Christian says that this is a collection perfect for a getaway on the Isle of Capri, and I have to say that I agree and I volunteer to go on that vacation! His pieces can go from day to evening all while being elegant and put-together.
I don’t know how he does it, but he truly captures the essence of every woman in the pieces that he designs.
Women Fashion Wear: Christian Siriano
I’ve loved him from his start on Project Runway, but I fell in love with him, even more, when he stepped up to design a gown for Ghostbuster’s star Leslie Jones who had been rejected from so-called top-designers due to her curves and “non-traditional” look. She dropped jaws when she showed up to the premiere in a curve-hugging flawless red dress that was made for revenge! It’s those moments that Christian seems to live for and design for.
Maybe his love for inspiring and designing for the everyday woman comes from the rejection he felt when the Fashion Institute of Technology turned him away. After that fateful day, he chose to study abroad in London and later moved to New York City where he would audition for Project Runway and get his break. Whatever twists of fate and rejections that happened along the way, I’m just happy that he’s on the fashion scene now because he brings a breath of fresh air to an industry that seems to only make clothes for one type of woman. If you’re a woman that thinks high fashion could never be for you, I definitely encourage you to check out his designs. He just “gets” the everyday woman and his clothing shows it.
